Letter from the VP Membership

Hey there!

My name is Jaeleigh Johnson, and I am an International Studies and Political Science bridge major from Nashville, Tennessee. I am honored to be the Vice President of Membership for the 2020-2021 school year. Recruitment at Rhodes is truly a unique journey. As a potential new member, you are given the opportunity to join both a house and a larger community of incredible women. The Panhellenic community at Rhodes demonstrates the unstoppable force of women united by common values by example. Whether or not you choose to pledge a sorority, I can honestly say that you will get to know some of the most intelligent, inspiring, and genuine women through this process.

When I think back to the person I was when I was in your shoes, I remember being a little awkward, definitely nervous, but foremostly excited. This process requires both the potential new member and each house to be vulnerable with each other. With that in mind, keeping an open mind as you spend time with each chapter is the most important part of this process. Each house and her members, rightfully so, are so proud of what their chapter stands for and what they have accomplished. Because of this, no matter where this journey takes you, remember that you will be surrounded by compassionate women who demonstrate their brilliance through their kindness, academic endeavors, and service.

I can honestly say that Tri Delta has shaped me into the woman I am today. The women in my chapter were able to see things in me that I was not yet ready to see in myself. College can be a daunting place that asks you to reflect on who you are and who you are becoming. Having this group of women around me has helped me answer these questions and be more confident about their answers. All in all, these are the most compassionate women whom I have ever met. I am always amazed by the grace and kindness they show everyone they encounter and the determination with which they meet challenges.

We are so excited to meet you this fall and to welcome you into our house this February. Each of you are resilient and talented in your own unique ways and will bring so much to the table regardless of where this journey takes you. Just remember that this process is ultimately for you. Although it feels nerve-wracking, remember to take a deep breath and be authentic. I can’t wait to see you all in the spring!

Delta Love & Mine,

Jae
